risa means laughter. Really Risa is a space for gold details, city living, Sunday brunch, city living, baby overload, personal style, city living and life’s sweet moments.
the beginning. I started Really Risa in June 2011 as a creative outlet during a difficult time at my full-time job. The goal was always for this to be a space for fun, light-hearted content and it remains that today.
my other half(ves). i married my love in June 2012. Chris and I met in college. I like to think we had a sort of “royal” romance … you know, on and off like Kate and Wills? Only the ending counts and I like where this one is headed. We welcomed our daughter, Isla Bee, in January 2014, and our son, Theo, in November 2015.
photographs. We have the Canon Rebel T3i with the 18-135mm lens. For food and style we use a 40mm “pancake” lens or a 50mm. If you don’t have a 40mm, get one! I also use my iPhone a lot and I’m a tad obsessed with Instagram (@reallyrisa).
the photographer. I take the food photos, kid photos and most of the other miscellaneous stuff, but when I’m in front of the camera, my very patient husband is the magic behind the lens.
blog platform. I began on worpress.com and now use the wordpress.org platform and pay a cloud service to host the site. It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it, but having a computer genius for a husband is a massive bonus.
guest writers. I do not accept guest bloggers/writers. I truly appreciate your interest in writing for me, but I like to keep this space personal and have only welcomed guest bloggers during my honeymoon and after my daughter was born.
Really Risa contains advertising and some affiliate marketing links. This means I occasionally receive a commission when you click a link and make a purchase.
i promise you:
I’ll always be up front about sponsored posts and giveaways.
I’ll never wear/use products I don’t love.
I’ll only review items I believe in.
If you see “c/o” (courtesy of), it means an item was gifted or loaned to me by a shop/designer.
If you see “gifted” before/after an item, it means it was a personal gift from a friend or family member.
I’d love to hear from you so feel free to email me at email@example.com.
