HUNTING FOR CHOCOLATE

Easter 2016Last year I got away with filling Isla’s Easter eggs with fishies and Cheerios and skipping the sweets altogether. That worked for a minute this year, until she found an egg with chocolate in it and from then on all other eggs were dead to her. There were tears every time she opened a non-chocolate-filled egg and it was really hard not to laugh at her. Oh, to be two. Three egg hunts later and I’m gaining weight just looking at all the leftover sugar. Oh, who am I kidding? I’m eating it not looking at it. But don’t tell her. We kicked off the holiday with some egg dying and hunting with Chris’ family, followed by another hunt at our house Sunday morning and yet another at my uncle’s house later that day. We spent time with my Anya, who enjoyed watching Isla run around my uncle’s huge yard looking adorable and couldn’t get enough of Theo’s endless smiles, which he so generously bestowed upon her all afternoon. It was a gorgeous weekend filled with nothing but sunshine. We played soccer, ate way too much, played with cousins, walked to the park and enjoyed all the family time. And with minimal meltdowns. It was lovely. Happy spring!Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016Easter 2016decorating eggsEaster 2016
