We went apple picking at Hill Creek Farms in South Jersey a week ago and had such a great day. It was perfectly chilly, as fall should be, and Isla had so much fun running up and down the rows of apples with her bucket. She was unbelievably excited, even though she had no idea what this whole apple picking thing was about. She inspected the apples, decided which ones she wanted and giggled … a lot. I’m a broken record, but I truly love this age. She is so much fun. She tried her very first donut (apple cider, of course) since we recently had her tested and found out she’s no longer allergic to egg (HOORAY!), picked out her own mini pumpkin, watched bees make honey, played with the other kids on the playground and generally had the best day ever. Good thing, too, because it was a rough weekend for me and I haven’t been able to do much walking since. The baby seems to be getting into position and I’m down for the count until his arrival. Last year the three of us went to a pumpkin patch, which made for a great day, too, but we wanted to change things up this year and go for something a little more low-key. At 37 weeks I just wasn’t up for major crowds and parking in a field a half a mile away. It all came together pretty perfectly, especially since this was likely our last outing as a family of three.
And now for picture overload because I couldn’t help myself.
