Maternity Style

Dress + Sleeveless BlazerMy Mother’s Day started off with fresh chocolate donuts from Federal Donuts, which means the rest of the day couldn’t possibly get any better … until it did. Isla slept until 8:45. Yes, I said 8:45 a.m.! Thank you my sweet, sweet, beautiful child for letting me sleep in and wake up before you! Then we enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Noord, one of our favorites, followed by lots of walks, naps and a home cooked meal by my husband for his parents, topped off with gelato. Now that’s my kind of day.

I wore this dress and sleeveless blazer combo to brunch and was pleasantly surprised to see it had shrunk in the wash. It was a bit long on me before so I was pretty pleased (and my new massive belly makes it a tad shorter, too). The sleeveless blazer is going to be worn with everything from now on. It really helps me pull things together with this bigger-than-last-time bump without adding a lot of warmth (kind of like the kimonos). And it truly works with just about anything.

But back to Mother’s Day. I hope all of you moms spent your special day doing absolutely nothing at all or all of your favorite things. You get one day each year to make crazy demands (just like that baby/toddler/tween/teen of yours) without feeling one ounce of guilt and so I say go for it … shamelessly. Happy (belated) Mother’s Day!

You look wonderful, as usual. Happy Mommy’s Day a little late, but no less heartfelt. Love you!
