Okay here’s my last post from our anniversary trip to Iceland! This is the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa. It’s essentially an outdoor complex of warm-to-hot water, waterfalls, miracle silica mud, saunas and a swim up bar all set inside a lava field. While we didn’t indulge in any of the extras, like massages while floating on the warm mineral-rich water, we did enjoy this relaxing afternoon of pampering. The silica mud, which is located in buckets around the spa, is known to heal many skin ailments and, of course, I splurged and brought home a bottle for some soothing at-home facials. I’ll let you know how my skin feels in a few weeks! It was pretty funny to see all the bathers with their faces covered in mud, but I even convinced Chris to partake. I mean, where else can you get an all natural silica skin treatment known for healing countless skin issues? The day we visited the temps were in the low 50s. I was prepared to be freezing from the neck up, but once you’re in, it’s quite comfortable and relaxing. Luckily, this was the only day of our visit that it didn’t rain. If you’re traveling Iceland, the Blue Lagoon is definitely worth an afternoon visit.
