me: honey, look. i got this rain jacket for Iceland for less than $100! aren’t you proud?
husband: that’s good. so it’s waterproof?
me: well, no. but it’s really cute, right?
husband: so wait. it’s not actually a rain jacket then?
me: look, you should be happy. the other rain jackets i was looking at were like $200!
husband: were they waterproof?
me: well, yes. but this one does have a little nylon in it.
husband: oh reesie, what i am going to do with you?
men. they’ll never quite get it.
now about the shades. Westward \\ Leaning says their sunglasses are “the perfect shape.” they come in various colors, lenses and arm details but only one shape, which apparently looks fantastic on everyone. i used chris as a guinea pig for this theory and let me say, they look even better on him! so i took his photo. and then he gave me one of those “reesie, if you put me on the blog you’re going to get it” looks. so you’ll have to take my word for it. i did, however, convince two of my girlfriends to model for me. those pictures are coming tomorrow.
another fun fact … this orange + white style, which i have fallen completely in love with even though susan didn’t recognize me on the street the other day because i had them on, is called “color revolution.” they were designed to honor democratic change throughout the world and proceeds from their sale will benefit Reporters Without Borders. that’s pretty damn awesome if you ask me. (did you know i studied journalism in college?)
