spring has sprung!

Look, ma! No stockings! Now that warmer temps have finally arrived in the city, I jumped at the chance to throw on my new fancy sandals and … drumroll … my first ever maxi skirt! That’s right. All 4’11” of me is sightly terrified of maxi skirts. They’re usually too long, too bulky, too wide, too everything. But when I saw this pale pink beauty at LOFT and realized the entire store was 50 percent off I snatched it up. Also, it has pockets, so you know, it’s got that going for it. I’m considering hemming it so I can wear it with flats, but that makes me nervous. What do you think?

Wow, I totally wouldn’t expect that skirt to be from Loft! It’s gorgeous. Also, I love the New Willis more & more every time I see it. Happy Spring!

Emily, The New Willis is quickly becoming one of my favorite bags. It’s neutral, big enough for my camera and light. An investment piece for sure. Happy spring to you! xo

I think it actually makes you look taller!

Honestly, I couldn’t tell that you’re 4’11 in this look. You appear much, much taller! Having it a little above your waist really elongates you :) And that slit is super cute. I love little touches like that because they change up the look of the garment. As for trimming it so you can wear flats, I think that’s pretty doable. I mean, you’d still look tall :) I think it’s because of the color too.

Great outfit! I am your height and maxi’s are year-round staples for me, so I’m happy you decided to get one! I’d leave it long and save it for days when you wear heels or wedges.

I’m so glad to hear someone my height has mastered the maxi. I’ll have to stay tuned for how you wear them this summer on your blog! xo
