shoulder padded

I remember the days when I used to run through Kids “R” Us on our annual back-to-school shopping trips looking for anything and everything neon, zebra print and shoulder padded (is that a word? shoulder padded?). Madonna was my style icon (it was the 90s after all) and my mom fully supported my style evolution. Though she was pretty P.O.ed that one time she grounded me to my room only to discover later that I had spent hours bedazzling all of my denim. She learned her lesson. Anyway, when I saw the shoulder pads on this Zara jacket last fall it took me right back to my childhood. I had to have it. It doesn’t get nearly enough wear but I love mixing the aztec-inspired print with stripes and casual bottoms.

{Zara jacket + bag; Current/Elliot jeans; Madewell “Zipcode” booties; Loft top; Anthropologie sunglasses; Essie “School of Hard Rocks” nail polish; J.Crew necklace}

    I love this print and how you matched the different prints. I have a skirt in the same print.
