tea for three

My ideal date: a spot of tea with the girls. I spent Saturday afternoon enjoying high tea at XIX (Nineteen) on the top floor of the Hyatt at the Bellevue. Champagne, tea sandwiches, pearls hanging from the ceiling, buttermilk scones and, of course, our very own teapots of loose tea. It was a lovely, relaxing girls day.

[i ordered a black tea called Mad Hatter’s Tea Party — pretty fitting since “Alice in Wonderland” is on my list of top 5 movie faves. it was exquisite.]

[as we were finishing up, they started setting up for the Academy of Music’s 156th Anniversary Ball. we were this close to buying ball gowns downstairs and crashing. instead i took a picture of this beautiful mint julep cup bouquet.]
