Style

structured prep

I was wearing this blazer the other night while out with a few girlfriends for dinner and drinks and one of them called me preppy. (Susan, I’m looking at you.) My first thought was “Um, rude.” And then I realized she was right. I tend to like structure for the same reason I don’t like sweatpants — because I don’t like feeling baggy and sloppy and eaten up by my clothes. So, yea, you could say I can be a little preppy, especially in the winter when I need layers upon layers of warmth but don’t want to look like a blimp. I wore this outfit to do some shopping in the city with Chris. Rather than wearing a bulky jacket and sweating as I sauntered in and out of dressing rooms, I went with a  little layered prep.

If you had to pick one word to describe your style, what would it be? Mine is definitely ‘structured’
