Here’s a look at a few outtakes of life lately. Pretty cherry blossoms, my fiancé running with my shoes down the beach (such a gentleman), me lounging on a sofa in one of the most glorious bathrooms (yes, it’s a loo) I’ve ever seen, burritos and egg white omelets (my new favorites) and a pretty vase at my bridal shower. It’s never too late to appreciate the little snippets of life that seem to pass you by.

simplicity

I love everything about this outfit, which is why it has been my go-to all winter. The wool dress is not only warm, it’s stylish, work appropriate and unbelievably comfortable. With a silk blouse underneath and a bulky winter scarf, it easily transitions from work day to happy evening! Sometimes the best outfits truly are the simplest.

a healthy meal

Nothing like a dress fitting to inspire a healthy meal! Enter salmon and grilled veggies. I cooked the salmon on a skillet with a little olive oil spray, salt and pepper for about 20 minutes — until flakey. I skewered onion, red bell pepper, zucchini and squash, brushed them with olive oil, added a little salt and pepper and grilled them on all sides for about 10-15 minutes. Voila! A healthy dinner fit for a wedding dress. Oh, and don’t forget the wine. It’s not healthy without antioxidants!

Is it Saturday yet? I will be working my buns off until around 1 a.m. tomorrow morning — you heard me right! — so I can’t wait for a relaxing weekend down the shore. Yes, we invade my aunt’s house nearly every weekend, and she loves it. I swear! These little bits of a happy life lately are bound to get me through my crazy night. Have a fantastic weekend!

beachy breeze

I adore the seashore, no matter the season. A crisp breeze, seashells littered on the shoreline, dogs running about, seagrass whistling on the dunes and seagulls squawking. Last Sunday was a spectacular spring day down the shore. We even ran into my mom, who was enjoying one last taste of salty air before heading back to Michigan after my bridal shower. Just think, in a few short weeks we’ll be sitting right there in our bikinis and beach chairs!
