“Move over cheesesteak … Gotta have meatballs!” Okay, I am not particularly fond of either, but after watching my fiancé suffer through an hour-and-a-half meeting to design our invitations, I thought I’d give a little. And so we ended up at Marabella Meatball Co. Who knew I liked meatballs!? Chicken meatballs, I mean, covered in spinach and ricotta cheese. De-lish!
It’s finally time to plan the honeymoon! We’ve considered the South of France, Greece, Budapest (the birthplace of my Anya), Italy, St. Lucia, you name it. But every time, we end up right back where we started … in Spain. Above all, we want to escape with a camera (and some beautiful, Spanish-inspired, flowing frocks for me), soak up some sun, aprender a bailar flamenco, stuff ourselves with tapas and sangria and immerse ourselves in Spanish culture.
We’re thinking Barcelona (ahem, the 7th most important fashion capital of the world!), Seville and the Costa del Sol. My Anya told me many times about a trip she took to Spain with my grandfather years ago. They stayed in an old castle along the Mediterranean — how romantic!
So please help us! For those of you who have been to Spain, we’d love to hear your suggestions. Restaurants, hotels, B&Bs, towns, cities, museums, festivals, shopping … we want to know everything!
I’ve never really been one for looking like a bright pumpkin, but for some reason I’ve been drawn to orange lately. Little, fun, orangey touches, like Essie’s Clambake polish, Revlon Moon Drops lipstick in Blase Apricot, and this J.Crew orange enamel necklace. Orange in moderation.
It has finally happened. I’ve lost my mind. No really. Work, life, family, wedding, where do people find the time? Our wedding is four months away. 4. Did you not hear me? Sorry, FOUR! Someone sped up time and didn’t ask me first. I’m not complaining, I have a job and someone crazy enough to marry me (you know who you are), but sometimes I just need to escape reality. This is my happy place. Bradley Beach, New Jersey. While it was a little too cold for sand between my toes and sunshine on my face last weekend, all I needed was a glimpse. The smell, the sound, the view … exhale.
During our recent trip to NYC, my friend, Korin, was lamenting at the bar about her injured foot and never-ending battle to find stylish shoes that adhere to her doctor’s orders. She also emptied her purse on the cocktail table and explained why each of her favorite beauty products should make the blog, but that’s a story for another post! Lucky for her, I have no intention of letting my poor college roommate attend my wedding in orthopedic grandma shoes. Okay, Korin, let’s see how I do! Here are a few “comfort” shoes that will appease the doc but won’t make you look like a member of the geriatric club. Plus, I’ve added some “night out” outfits and pieces as you requested. All could work with some stylish “elevated” flats. If this works, perhaps I’ll start taking requests and we’ll call it the “Shop Savvy” feature! Yay!
